Dear Christina,
This is a fan letter! I missed seeing you at the opening of Laural's "Dynamite". What a fine job you did. Everything looked appropriate and well-suited to the characters and style. It was a really nice job, and I was thrilled to see your work back at Oxy!
Then, having forgotten who the costumer was, Kathie and I went to see our new acquaintance, Richard Azurdia, in the production of "American Night" at the Denver Center. As the show unfolded with one glorious, satiric spectacle after another, I kept laughing and saying to myself, "Fabulously funny, perfect image -- And those COSTUMES!" I was ecstatic when I remembered that YOU were The Head Honcha!
Christina, it was a superb job of design and execution. Richard told us that four dressers was all it took backstage to make the show work. Amazing! Color, cut, and style -- each outfit was outstanding. So was Sam's entire production. By far, it was the best thing we have ever seen in Denver after almost twenty years of sampling.
Congratulations, my friend! You are at the top of your profession!
With admiration,
Alan

The design team — Christina Wright (costumes) as well as Broadway veterans David Zinn (sets), Darrel Maloney (lights and projections) and Ryan Rumery (sound and music) — create a vivid performance environment where scene changes are sometimes effected by shifts in lighting or the use of simple curtains and drops.
Wright’s work is most memorable with her wild, green, tentlike outfit for the three-headed Troll King (Moreno, assisted by Roberts and Zes). The Troll King, in fact, provides some of the most memorable images and biggest laughs of the evening.

You would have to circumnavigate the globe at least three times to find someone with half the energy, passion, talent and dedication to theatre, art and everything and everyone she loves. Christina has designed some of the most marvelous costumes I have ever seen. She also adores working with actors and finding a way to accomodate and facilitate their performances (rather than resent their anxieties). Her energy and high spirits are always infectious. Do yourself a favor and work with her if you have the chance. If you can't work with her, play with her.

Christina Wright is a creative force to be reckoned with. She has energy beyond most mortals to design, style, create and execute extraordinary costumes in a timely manner. I discovered this whirling dervish while she was costuming for a summer Shakespeare company in Santa Barbara. The conditions were rustic, yet she never flinched at the challenge of costuming a cast of 25 and ultimately making us all look absolutely regal and professional due to her late night efforts and creative concepts. Where she came up with the gorgeous color themes, appropriate accessories, and rich designs was clearly her tireless research, which seemed to be a energy invigorating thrill to this costume designer. And she is infectious in her enthusiasm and joy; we became a very close and happy group.
Any director is fortunate to have her on their team!
